JOHANNA MORAN
Yogalution Movement Peace Ambassador
A native of Southern California, yoga has always been something I’ve known about. As a competitive athlete, though, my mind was conditioned to believe I had to move constantly in order to be productive. It wasn’t until 2021 when my therapist recommended I try yoga during a period of deep depression and sadness. At that point, I mustered up the courage to attend Yoga on the Bluff in Long Beach led by Lisa Sutton. Since then, yoga has helped me find stillness, as well as connecting my mind and body to Source in times when I have felt deeply wounded and afraid. Because of my strong belief in the immense healing powers we have within, I began the journey to becoming a yoga teacher in March of 2023. What started as attending yoga on the bluff a few times a week led me to connect with and be inspired by such a beautiful community—with Yogalution and beyond. I am passionate about meeting people where they are and, through yoga, helping them to determine and meet their needs. Using this as a guiding point, I include physical knowledge gained from my time as a soccer player, as well as insights gained from betrayal trauma and my own self-discovery. Each time we roll out the mat, we are in a different body and with a different mindset. I look forward to meeting you where you are!
