Yogalution Movement Peace Ambassador
In 2011, Matthew was introduced to yoga by his teacher, Prema Karina Arenas Bonansea. She generously shared the practices of Kirtan, Nada Yoga, Yoga Asana, and Mantra with him. Later that year, he began playing music with Prema for kirtans, workshops, and teacher trainings in Taiwan and Canada. Matthew feels incredibly fortunate and grateful for her guidance, which served as a powerful catalyst, deepening his commitment to yoga. He extends his sincere gratitude to Prema ji.
In 2018, he resolved to deepen his practice and more of his dedicate his life to yoga. In 2019, he enrolled in a 200-hour yoga teacher training program led by Dharma Shakti and Marlene Martin, which proved to be a beautiful and transformative experience. His heartfelt thanks go to Dharma ji and Marleen ji for their invaluable teachings.Ā In 2023, Matthew traveled to Rishikesh, India, to complete a 300-hour teacher training program with a focus on Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles. Beyond formal teacher trainings, he has been blessed to also attend workshops and retreats with Krishna Das, Yogi Charu, Raghunath Das (Ray Cappo), and Kaustubha Das.Ā
Yoga, Kirtan, Meditation, Soundbaths, and Ayurveda continuously inspire Matthew to live and act with greater mindfulness and compassion.
He is honored to be a part of the Yogalution family and community. The tools of yoga are timeless gifts shared by great teachers out of their compassion to better living. His deepest gratitude goes to everyone who has inspired him on this journey.
